If there were no black people here in this country, it would have been Balkanized. The immigrants would have torn each other’s throats out, as they have done everywhere else. But in becoming an American, from Europe, what one has in common with that other immigrant is contempt for me—it’s nothing else but color. Wherever they were from, they would stand together. They could all say, “I am not that.” So in that sense, becoming an American is based on an attitude: an exclusion of me. It wasn’t negative to them—it was unifying. When they got off the boat, the second word they learned was “n***er.” Ask them—I grew up with them. I remember in the fifth grade a smart little boy who had just arrived and didn’t speak any English. He sat next to me. I read well, and I taught him to read just by doing it. I remember the moment he found out that I was black—a n***er. It took him six months; he was told. And that’s the moment when he belonged, that was his entrance. Every immigrant knew he would not come at the very bottom. He had to come above at least one group—and that was us.

Truth. Gosh this also has me thinking how even African immigrants come in a step above Black Americans, and are able to see more class mobility partly because of this phenomenon…

The immigrants arrived today and were greeted by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself at a special ceremony, a stark contrast to Israel’s treatment of Africans. The Zionists were welcomed with open arms, while Knesset Members Miri Regev and Danny Danon called Africans “a cancer in our body” and “infiltrators”.
More than 4,800 American, Canadian and British Jews have or will be making aliyah (“ascent”) this year; immigration to the Land of Israel — one of the basic principles of the Zionist ideology.

I would replace the words American, Canadian, and British with “white” for accuracy. This appears to be an act of Racist (White Supremacist) aggression.
Racism in Israel: People Call Us Slaves
Nearly a month ago, the Israeli government launched the first in its series of mass deportations of African migrants. Since then, 200 South Sudanese have been airlifted to Juba, their refugee status having been rescinded by a Jerusalem Administrative Court decision on June 7. Recently, the deportation of immigrants from the Ivory Coast began.
About 62,000 migrants, mainly from Sudan and Eritrea, have come through the porous desert border with Egypt since 2006. Whilst humanitarian agencies claim their right to be recognized as refugees and to be considered for asylum, the Israeli government disputes the argument saying the vast majority are job seekers. The visas given to these migrants doesn’t allow them to work, making their lives very difficult.
In the Southern part of Tel-Aviv, Lewinsky Park has been turned into an open-air refugee camp with hundreds of residents.
Ibrahim explains, “I left Darfur because of the war; my village was assaulted, I didn’t have any other choice. I came to Israel seeking peace. I don’t know why they deny us working visas, so we spend the whole day waiting for somebody to offer us a job. Here the conditions are worse than in refugee camps in Chad where my family is.”
“People call us ‘Eved’ (slaves),” says Abdul-Aziz, “On public transportation, they don’t want to sit next to us; anyway, mostly we are not allowed to get on. So we try to save money to buy a bike. But even though, it’s not safe for us as cars try intentionally to knock us down sometimes.”
For most of them, returning home is not an option. Abdallah lost his dad and two brothers, his village was destroyed, the rest of his family lives in a refugee camp in Chad.
Bashir wants to go back, he cannot endure this situation any longer. (x)

Non-White Babies Are Not a ‘Good’ Thing, Says Suspected Racist
Suspected Racist, Phyllis Schlafly, recently gave a speech regarding the increase of non-white births in so-called U.S.A.
Phyllis Schlafly is a constitutional lawyer and founder of the Eagle Forum, a so-called conservative or “right-wing” interest group. New York Times published a report this week entitled, “Whites Account for Under Half of Births in U.S.”, which seems to have inflamed many people who classify themselves as “white”. To them, it signifies an end to being the majority population in the so-called U.S.A. for the first time since Racists (White Supremacists) invaded the area and subsequently murdered the indigenous inhabitants. Below is an example of Schlafly’s recent comments which reflect these anxiety-laden sentiments:
Blacks, though native born, were arriving as the poorest people from the poorest section of the country with the least access to the worst education. Over the decades of the Migration, they came with every disadvantage and found themselves competing not only with newcomers like themselves but with second- and third-generation European immigrants already established in apprenticeships and factory jobs that were closed off to black migrants, the immigrants and their children permitted into the very trade unions that prohibited black citizens from joining.
Because they were largely excluded from well-paying positions in even unskilled occupations and were concentrated in servant work and other undesirable jobs, blacks were the lowest paid of all the recent arrivals. In 1950, blacks in the North and West made a median annual income of $1,628, compared to Italian immigrants, who made $2, 295, Czechs, who made $2,339, Poles, who made $2,419, and Russians, who made $2,717.
‘There is just no avoiding the fact that blacks were more severely discriminated against in the labor market and elsewhere,’ Lieverson wrote. They ‘had to work more hours to earn less money than anyone else,’ the historian Gilbert Osofsky wrote…
The presence of so many black migrants elevated the status of other immigrants in the North and West. Black southerners stepped into a hierarchy that assigned them a station beneath everyone else, no matter that their families had been in the country for centuries. Their arrival unwittingly diverted anti-immigrant antagonism their way, as they were an even less favored outsider group than the immigrants they encountered in the North and helped make formerly ridiculed groups more acceptable by comparison.
A Latino Army veteran arrested by sheriff’s deputies in Maricopa County, Arizona, is on life support after being found unresponsive in his cell. The family of 44-year-old Ernest Atencio told advocates they were deciding when to take their son off life support after he was found in his jail cell with taser marks on his body. The news comes as Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is facing scrutiny after a U.S. Department of Justice probe found the department unfairly targeted Latinos.
