that is so cute
this is disgusting to me.
“freedom hair” oh really.
He’s going to adopt another daughter from Ethiopia SO he can have more practice?
What the actual fuck?
I don’t think he was saying he was adopting another daughter for more practice, but that since he and his wife were on the wait list he’d (hopefully) have more practice.
I do find this cute, the entire thing including the freedom hair bit.
The most disgusting thing about is that it’s disgustingly adorable.
Why Ethopia? Why rip that child from their culture? Why didn’t you adopt a baby from England or Scotland.
Seriously white folk.
Stop adopting “exotic” babies. If you gotta adopt a POC baby, there are so in the adoption system where you live! There are lots of them.
and mothafucka you dont know how to use a damn comb?
you comb her hair with a fuckin fork?
Y’all know sometimes they say things that they think is acceptable. Like speaking before thinking. But a fork? That’s what got me a damn fork to part some hair?
I bet they throw it the dishwasher and use it again.
I didn’t find anything really wrong with this. Yes, it’s a bit disturbing about the fork but.. *shrugs. She’s a beautiful little girl.’
“and mothafucka you dont know how to use a damn comb you comb her hair with a fuckin fork?” *real tears*
-I Cried Real Tears Reading The Comments Hahaha. I Still Don’t Know How To Feel About “Freedom Hair.”
WOW these people are doing nothing wrong but loving an underprivilaged child and all you ignorant fucks have to say is “white people adopt your own color.” A perfect response to this would be, “How about you black people start adopting your own color for us then?” But because Im educated enough to know color doesnt matter in adoption, how much you love the child does, its not only clear to me these people are good, caring parents, but they also should have another child. Hopefully she will turn out smarter than the people on these comments.
Dear “colorblind” person who is actually racist, color does matter in adoption. I don’t mean that figuratively, I mean that literally. COLOR MATTERS IN ADOPTION. Perhaps instead of acting holier-than-thou, you could pay attention to what is being said here, by whom and WHY. There are REASONS that these things are being said. You’ll have to forgive me for not being the least bit surprised that you felt perfectly entitled to invade the conversation with an incorrect opinion based on faulty logic about a topic you know absolutely nothing about.
Oh and this: “How about you black people start adopting your own color for us then?” Does nothing but prove to me, that you are truly a racist. When you felt the need to say “For us” as if YOU were doing US a favor? Wow! You are taking your HIGH OPINION of your ignorance to the next level.
Say less. Always.
Thank you for existing.
And I can count the number of White people who have adopted Black foster kids on two fingers (and I’ve known like a hundred, probably more). Racist assholes like to make a point about most of the foster kids I work with being Black (even though that has more to do with where they live). But surprise! Most of the foster parents are Black too! It’s like they’re helping their communities or something.
And I promise this is the last thing I’ll say. You don’t get extra points for being White and adopting a Black child from another country. Thinking you did some extra favor is fucking racist. It’s like “Who would want to adopt an Ethiopian? Ew! Not many! Except I would because I’m such a great savior.”
Could the haters stop. Like really. At least he is learning how to do her hair! Most men can’t do their own daughters’ hair. He is one of the men white or black who is!!!! This should not be about race or colour thing.
The entire article is about her race & his white savior complex so why wouldn’t we discuss that or recognize the damage that is often done to transracial adoptees by people who insist race doesn’t matter because they’re white & don’t have the first fucking clue about what it means to be a person of color in this society. How about you try listening to the people who know what they’re talking about instead of ignoring reality?
So much about the heavy promotion of so-called transracial adoption involves disseminating the false notion that the people who classify themselves as “white” who appropriate these non-white youngsters are somehow not racist or “less racist” than the overt Racist (White Supremacist). Nothing could be further from the truth.
Transracial abduction is the most accurate term for the unjust act of appropriating non-white young people. The appropriation requires the deliberate construction and maintenance of a system of mistreatment which prevents non-white people from protecting, defending, and providing for their own offspring adequately. People who classify themselves as “white” are not oblivious to this fact. Instead, they are more interested in getting drunk off their “white savior complex" and parading around their non-white victims as some sort of fashion accessory rather than producing Justice.
Transracial abduction could not exist without the system of Racism (White Supremacy). That alone makes the abduction of non-white young people an act of maximum racial aggression, in my opinion. I see it as a very vicious act and not in the least “well-meaning”, “charitable”, or “cute”.
For them, the earlier they can start indoctrinating us with Racist (White Supremacist) ideologies the better. Braintrashed from birth, non-white people unfortunately are more likely to become incapable or unwilling to resist Racism (White Supremacy). This happens all the time when non-white youth have two non-white parents because of the constant exposure to Racism (White Supremacy) through areas of activity like religion, education, and entertainment. Isn’t it easy to imagine how this damage is compounded when one or both of a youth’s supposed parents are suspected Racists?
That’s why it’s so important for Victims of Racism to be codified in the area of activity called “Sex”. Our potential and existing offspring deserve both our heightened awareness regarding the hostile world in which we live and our sincerest effort (no matter how comparatively feeble) to protect them from suspected Racists. This is more likely when we are very careful about when we have offspring, how many we have, and with whom.
We can’t be fooled by these Racist machinations any longer. And we can’t keep giving these Racists more non-white people to abuse. As long as the system of Racism exists we cannot guarantee that our offspring will not be mistreated. However, our sincere desire to one day have this security should motivate us to completely dismantle this system immediately.
Replace White Supremacy with Justice ASAP.
Maranda Deett Ross, 37, is charged with neglect of a child
A mother has been charged with neglect after leaving her son, who has cerebral palsy, at a gas station.
Spartanburg deputies say 37-year-old Maranda Deett Ross, from South Carolina, was driving with her son in Boiling Springs on Thursday morning.
Authorities say Ross was angry that her son did not answer ‘Yes, ma’am’ when she asked him if he was hungry.
You would think with all the Suspected Racists appropriating non-white youths (transracial abduction) and the amount of energy invested in lambasting non-white attempted mothers in the media that there wasn’t a single unfit mother who classifies herself as “white” on the planet.

Transracial abduction fits really, really well into white people’s historical agenda of enslaving, colonizing, and generally using a lot of violence and terror to dominate people of color.
Racial stereotypes are a part of a belief system deeply embedded in American culture that is premised on the superiority of whites and the inferiority of Blacks. A pattern of oppositional categories associates whites with positive characteristics (industrious, intelligent, responsible), while associating Blacks with the opposite aberrational qualities (lazy, ignorant, shiftless). Negative images of African Americans are displayed in the media and reinforced by institutions in which Blacks hold a position of disadvantage. So, for example, the stereotype that Black people are predisposed to law breaking and violence is broadcast in the media’s preoccupation with stories involving Black criminals. The belief that most criminal activity is committed by Blacks is then reinforced by the mass incarceration of young Black men and women. Similarly, the stereotype that Black people are lazy and prefer being dependent on government handouts is perpetuated by the media’s portrayal of welfare recipients as almost exclusively Black and by barriers to equal participation in the economy. These negative stereotypes, in turn, legitimate punitive policies that imprison and impoverish more Blacks, entrenching further their inferior social status. The images of Blacks as crime-prone and lazy affects more than those who are locked up in prison or welfare reliant. These images redound on the perceived character and opportunities of all Black people. They place Black individuals, regardless of their personal character, at greater risk of being stopped by the police and being turned down for a job.
The racial disparity in the child welfare system works the same way. A child welfare system that takes Black children from their parents at twice the rate of whites sends a negative message about Black families. It says that Black parents are unfit to raise their children and that Black children are better off in the state’s custody. It reinforces long-held stereotypes about Black mothers’ and fathers’ irresponsibility and corrupting influence on their children. It replicates the notion created in chattel slavery that there is no such thing as a Black family. In fact, placing so many Black children in the state’s custody implements the quintessential racial insult — that Black people are incapable of governing themselves and need white supervision.
